What is Santa bringing you this year?

Yeah, EuraJohn gave me my first Kindle, a very basic but perfectly usable one which I passed on to BarryD when I bought this one, he also gave me about 4k books too, which I did look through and still have, but I'm not that into fiction these days, I do read some but I like to leaf through a book and see if it bites, most don't, I'm more into film and video these days, didn't I send you the same books a while ago?

Not sure but if you did thanks(y)

If you didn't can I please have them? :)

I have a really good seperates system up in the loft but not used it in almost 20 years, I should sell it but apart from the deck it's all good stuff and I'm loath to sell it, The deck is just a Technics one a mate gave me, I might even have got rid of it already.

I only play CDs in the car and van, mainly coz radio is so shit these days.
Turf the technics, total sh-t as with all jap hifi, you could have got a rega planer 3 for the money that prob cost.

I used to do courier work for B&W down in Lansing up to their factory in Bradford once a month or so, the best paying job I ever had, long drive though as it was a return job when I went down to Dover. I got a pair of their rejects for nowt as the cabinets got damaged, it was on the stands but the warehouse lad gave me a pair of new stands out the back door, sortid.

Technics like anything else in the 90s had good and bad stuff, these were not too awful I just wasn't keen on the look of it.

My setup as is, linn with middle grade arm, neam pre/power amp, kef coda speakers all on spiked stands, all tucked away until my kids have a year or two more and no sticky hands.

We stopped getting each other presents years ago and also the young ones amongst family and friends.

Its a waste of time (and money) chasing round shops to buy prezzies for kids who only have an eye on the main present (thanks very much uncle jim, as the present disapears over the childs shoulder to be forgotton)

What we do intead is to book late season Panto tickets for everyone and without telling them the date (but with prior arrangments with parents) is turn up unannounced take the smelly little darlings to the panto, then to Maccy D's. where they can stuff their chubby faces with whatever E numbers they want and as many times as they want (cos its relatively cheap)

Every year they never know when we are going to turn up and that creates anticipation.
Trouble is; some of them are now in their 30's!!!!

As for us a token pair of socks/undies/ smelly things. Then for 1st week of Jan we book a week at the Travellodge in Covent Garden and every evening we go see a musical and every afternoon we go to the cinema (expensive, but we are worth it!!).

Solves the Christmas problem, doesn't waste time and we enjoy it!

Have a great Christmas everyone

Used to live in Warren Road, Worthing 1990-99 [opposite what was then the London & Edinburgh Insurance site], aka the A24 so you probably drove past our house, Kev ... A pity that B&W wasn't Boyle and Wilkins, because we could have had Lancing Boyle & Wilkins ... :D
