What part of the country are you from ?

Eh lad, Lancashire 'an Lancashire bred, strong in th'arm an' think in yed. Me too !! though migrated via Wythenshaw and Cheshire (Gatley) to the Peak district, still thick in't' yed though, now they call us 'wooly backs' can't think why though
Eh up Oppy, we live in the Peak too ( when we’re there), in Bamford. Which bit are you in?

Born in Nottingham, but left almost immediately for Kent. Folks split up and dumped me with Grandfolks in Barrow , where I couldn’t understand a b****** word at first. Later Wilmslow, where they couldn’t understand my finest Cumbria at first. Then Liverpool to learn how to design things and speak proper like, then marriage and Swinton, where Cheshire sounded a bit posh! 20 years in Surrey as a base for working in foreign parts. Surrey too b*****busy, and full of southerners who couldn’t understand my lack of enthusiasm for golf, so up to the High Peak to be near centre of gravity of dispersed family...who have now departed this world or dispersed even further to Bonny ??????? and New Zealand ?? .
Presently in a 6x2.3m box wandering Romania tripping over bear pooh or fetching up at collapsed rope bridges and wondering whether we should get a better hiking map!

Born and lived in Hampshire, now residing in Norfolk.

Born in Surrey of a Welsh father. Immediately after marriage (Welsh girl born in Northern Ireland) moved to live in the Caribbean. Later lived and worked in West Africa and the Middle East.

Returned to Surrey, and later took a relocation package to South Cambridgeshire.

After retirement we moved south to be near the boys in Heathfield, East Sussex.

I hope to be laid to rest beside other relatives in North Northumberland, but not just yet........... :)

As an RAF child I went to 20+ schools so no real origins - Bath, Blackpool, Germany, Cyprus to name but a few. However the posting in 1960's to RAF Benson was where I met the Tall Guy and have lived in Oxon ever since.
I've only lived in 9 different counties/countries , but my old brother had in his list Germany, Kenya, Germany (again), Chandlers Ford, South Wales, North Shields, Blackpool, Leeds, Coventry, Leeds (again) and Wokingham by the time he was 11.
He told me a few years ago he was really fed up that every time he made any friends at school my parents moved (I did wonder if they were in a Witness Protection Scheme?!)

That's my wife's problem. Her parents were in the RAF and her formative years were spent travelling around the world.

As soon as she made friends, her parents moved on. All her dolls were thrown away and she has to make new friends again.

She now loves stability, which is why she prefers to stay at home, and encourages me to travel solo when I travel for longer periods.

I travelled with my parents until I was 18... my toys were 'sorted' approximately every 2 years or didn't survive the move..... my dad's racing bikes were always well crated and shipped back though.
