Was wondering what everybody uses in their toilets? What give the best results and the cheapest to use. Seem to have read something a while ago washing m/c detergent capsules, but can’t remember exactly what the article said! Was hoping someone could enlighten me on the subjec!

We get tablets from Aldi £1*79 or about and last a fair while ,compared to that ford and other toilet product prices which imho are ridiculous

Aldi green liquid whenever it comes up, I like the smell. Failing that non bio washing tabs

We just use the green now you can empty it in any septic tank with confidence your not going to destroy the balance of the bacteria in the tank .for us it just gives us peace of mind. We've tried all these different types of stuff. But like i said we're happy using green a little more expensive but i think it's well worth it, for peace of mind and the environment.

Bio washing tablets or a splash of laundry bio liquid.

What ever you use try useing less.
When it is cool weather and the tank is emptied every other day VERY little is needed.
When it's hot, and especially if anything is left in the tank for a few hours it will need something that at least masks the smell.

I put nothing in my toilet apart from poo, pee, toilet paper and flush water. I have a SOG system fitted which creates a slight vacuum in the cassette making it completely smell free and sucks any unpleasant odours out of the washroom. The system has an air filter so that smells are not passed to the outside of the van: https://www.soguk.co.uk/

bio washing liquid that's what I use.
Plus one for cheap bio washing tablets. Breaks down solids quickly . Any odour can be sorted by using a dilution of Zaflora in a spray bottle. It’s the only thing I’ve used in this van.
My experience of SOG system is that it works, for the user . For someone unfortunately down wind of one, not so well. Especially on a crowded aire. Euk!

That only happens if the air filter on the system is not replaced on a regular basis.

I have never understood why folks put water in their cassette with whatever additives they use. The longer you can make it last when off grid the better

Come the colder months I don’t put anything in the cassette. Just try to make sure it’s emptied as often as possible. When it warms up I use detergent. Very rarely had to go more than four days without emptying

My pet hate is being downwind from those stingy people who wont spend the few Bob it costs to treat the toilet with the right stuff. Have they no sense of smell??? A big bottle of blue costs about £12 and lasts a season. Who cant afford that???

I’m one of those who whenever possible don’t treat the cassette but I’ve never ever noticed a smell outside. I do not want to use chemicals at all if I don’t have to, I feel we have far too many chemicals floating around our life styles as it is. If I can go chemical free anywhere then I do
