What television program did you race home from school for:

apart from all the horse programs, follyfoot, Mr Ed and Lone Ranger (which we also watched on the Saturday morning Matinees at the pictures in black & white and we all stamped our feet then Tonto and the loneranger was at high gallop chasing the baddies, I also like Rin tin tin
But I Liked the Fonze in Happy Days

For most of my years in school we didn't have a television, I think that I was 13 or 14 when we eventually got one from Radio Rentals. We used to listen to things like 'Journey into space' and 'The lost legion' on the radio, but I do remember Quatermas and having to be sent to bed early due to it being 'unsuitable' for children. The thing was though, we spent most of our childhood outside regardless of the weather as long as we were back before it went dark.

Boots n saddles, Lassie, can't recall any other as this silly hour.

I I remember the School Holiday shows more really ... Champion the Wonder Horse was probably my Favourite -
. That and Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe seemed to be on constant rerun for years!

I do remember looking forward to "The Kids from 47a" in term times and "The Tomorrow People"
was great :)
Something I never remember seeing as a child but found on Youtube last year was "Timeslip"
from 1970.

So Lorraine, did you rush out the pictures as the credits rolled to avoid the National Anthem? I can't remember what was on ever, but I do remember that (and sneaking in the fire exit when the lights went down to avoid paying of course!)

I used to watch til the dot vanished.

When I think I can't for the life of me, think that I never mentioned Champion the wonder horse
We did do all the sneaking in by somebody paying in and then letting us in, it was behind the curtains

We did run out of the pictures when all the credits were coming up, but I only rem ember it was because we wanted to catch the 12.00 o'clock bus

Never had a TV when I was at School. It was radio or nothing. Left home at 16 in 1954 to join the Navy and there was still no TV.

We didn't get a telly till I was 12 or 13. I couldn't rush home anyway 'cos I always got a lift with Dad.

I remember all my mates wanting to get home in time for Scooby Doo - but I didn't have a clue what it was then!

I loved Flipper the dolphin, Salty the sea lion, the tomorrow people, Ace of wands, Daktari, Bell & Sebastian, White Horses, Tarzan with Ron Ely, Champion the wonder horse, Tin Tin, Rin Tin Tin, the Jetsons, The Flintstones, Top Cat.

I'd come home, watch these programs while eating my tea & then off out in the back lanes finding places to build dens or fixing ropes through the trees for an assault coarse. Happyish days!!

I was browsing Amazon Prime Video the other day for something to watch and spotting "Champion the Wonder Horse" is available!
decide to put it on just to listen to the opening music and the cat immediately looked up, ears like radar pointing at TV and staring at Champion!
Looks like a new favourite to replace the Youtube "Cat TV" videos with birds and squirrels :)

I grew up with a telly as my parents got one for the coronation - all i can remember was that the house was never so full that day !
The ones I remember were Muffin the mule, Andy Pandy & Flowerpot men plus Pinky & Perky & Captain Pugwash & four Feather Falls
Champion the wonder horse, Davy Crockett & The Last of the Mohicans, Wagon Train & Gunsmoke are also in my memory from growing up
