A local trip I have been thinking of doing to go away for a few days is the "Borderlands 320" - North Northumberland and edging into the Borders.
Close enough to make your way home at short notice same day I would say? But at the same time, see some stuff probably never seen either. (I am on the doorstep of this and sights & places I never heard of)

Try the East neuk of Fife, plenty of spaces to overnight, and you can get an awfy guid fish supper anywhere up that coast

Quite envious Wully, we had a really nice 4 days there, the locals are so welcoming and great pubs. Enjoy your stay mate
