i have a simliar unit in my 2013 B544 tried to get the sim card for the maps updated posted on the F B hymer owners group asking there conclusion is that hymer & zetec fell out no longer support the units , happy with the unit but maps are 7 years out of date and can’t find any way to do it , been on the zetec site no help there got a mate who’s an I t lecturer couldn’t he couldn’t , only advice is buy new unit !

Even when manufacturer map updates are available they can be a silly price, and often more expensive than a standalone Sat-Nav with lifetime FREE updates, so swapping out the head unit can be a good option even if still supported!
I would think you could get a new head unit nowadays for not much more than £100 and which offers the same as the typical 7+ year old Factory unit.

I give up. Have purchased the Sygic Truck app to the android phone for approx £55.00. Fingers crossed this cheaper method works alongside the old dashboard unit.

Sounds like a better plan !.
Be interested to know how it works for when my ageing TomTom needs to be replaced

my solution was that i use an old i pad mini on google maps connected by bluetooth to my onboard router it’s perfect with real time traffic etc here i have unlimited data and will run on a minimal phone signal only problem is when abroad the data restrictions might rule it out,

Obvious that real-time traffic is handy.
But I always choose a solution that is independent of a data connection whilst travelling
  • loss of data signal
  • cost of data
  • availability/cost of data in europe after 2 months (fair usage)
So a system whereby I can download maps at home
I also like to be able to add 3rd party POI (Wildcamping and Campercontact)
Most live/online/ondemand map data is relatively heavy on data usage as the map is constantly refreshed as you move
for @rubyken data not a problem.

When my 5in TomTom gives up I will go for a 2nd hand 7in Tablet but with maps and app downloaded / installed.
maps.me is free igo costs £20plus for a proper satnav type function

Horses for courses !
Or more aptly Horses for Jockeys.

The Sygic is working well offline. Using Bluetooth to on board speakers for directions and the Huawei screen almost the same size as the ZENEC. Might upgrade to live traffic for £8.00 whilst on mobile data but never really needed it before.
