Mornings.
I have a problem with my zig x7 charger.i think! (1999 auto sleeper) i have noticed its not charging my leisure batteries on hook up.the 240 volt Fridge light comes on, but not 240 habitation light.the leisure batteries are charging when the engine is running.any idea's?.I know these chargers are old now,and hard to get etc. I have owned the vehicle for seventeen years and never had a problem before.is there a like for like charger I could use etc, I am not mechanically/electrical minded.so if it is the charger it would have to be a straight swop etc.i am living in the vehicle at the moment,so it's causing a bit of a problem..
Thanks in advance.

Get your manual out, check the appropriate fuses and wiring connections at the charger first. Looks like The X7 is no longer available and has been upgraded to the X70. It's not cheap and I've no idea if it's connections are identical and therefore how be easy a swap would be.
There's only a couple of connections (input and output) so if the connections are not the same on the latest unit then you could probably get a better unit at a cheaper price by going for a Victron charger. Alternatively this charger
Is cheap and seems to be excellent value for money, I've had one at home for a couple of years and it be works well, it doesn't give 30A as described and only 20A but that's probably enough, you could plug it into a 240 socket in the van and use the clips directly onto the leisure battery until you find a friend who knows what they are doing who can wire it into the original charger input and output cables.

All sorted now thanks.spliced a lidl twelve quid job in, working a treat now..rang magnums/olearys.and autosleepers all said the same.floating charger or summat.asked if lidl/aldi chargers ok.no problem they said.
