Help with new POI system

not sure what better details you mean, the site is on UKcampsite, and several others in the UK as well as several in Europe not to worry am about ready to retire anyway, was just making converstion. You only have to google "The Lazy Buzzard Campsite"

It just seems to me these days of reasonably inexpensive tech someone is missing a trick not coming up with a system where you can just go on phone/tablet, find a site close then enter reg number and card details and get a pitch. Could be totally automated and not that much needed to do it.

Sort of thing a company could put together then site owners use their services and technology for a fee. :)

It exists it’s called the Camping and Caravan Club I booked a sight this week on my iPad through their system ??

You have probably mentioned where you are previously, but I have not seen it, in the thread I responded to, it merely said "You can find my site on Facebook under the lazy buzzard campsite. EX348NY " I confess the post code escaped me and is enough to find you. I should have been sufficiently awake to have seen that, but I may have been in Grumpy mode, possibly at the very mention of Facebook, I apologise.

You need to book it or turn up before tea time Annie. I was meaning where you can just book in on spec at any time without pre booking. May just be me but I will drive around not knowing where I will end for the night and stop when I have had enough for the day.
 
We tend to do the same, although these days I'll look on maps.me to see what we have in the direction we're headed, otherwise we have to be more conscious of possibilities as we wander.

no worries and no need to apologise at all mate.
 
Location : POI
Info : size of van, no of spaces, co-ords

There are a fair few POIs that aren’t suitable for us even though we are less than 7 m, it’s not always possible to judge using Google Earth.

So your expecting campsite owners to stay open until late most days in the off chance that someone will turn up isn’t that why we have the pois so we can find an overnight spot.

Err you losing it? :) :)

Did I not mention some sort of automated system? :)

But basically the camp site would be open 24/7 but unattended, automated payment and barrier type or npr.

And who would foot the bill for all this automation, I lost it years ago lol.

As per everything else it would be the end user. Hopefully though campsite owners would see increased booking and split the cost between them.

Ideally it would be aires but this is UK so would need to work with campsites, surely if French can have a system working so can we. I just want to be able to stop when and where I want. I know it is too much to ask though really :)

It’s a really big ask in this country so your probably better just sticking with the turn up on spec or pre book ??
 
Vantastic Welsh Wildcamping have on their map a stop and go service where you can go to a campsite pay £5 and get 2 hours to freshen up members are stopping and asking at sites to add to their poi map could be a great addition to the poi’s.

Ah, I see the F word, ok, but we could do with a poi group on WC which covers this.
