To add an avatar;

Go into your profile (Click on your username top right hand of screen)

Click on the Avatar. (Edit Avatar button will appear)

Upload an avatar of your choice.

EDIT: New users will have to wait for authorisation by Admin. This is usually done at some time during the first day of your registration.
EDIT2: You will be able to tell when you have been authorised as your status will upgrade from 'Junior Member' to 'Full Member'

Sorry, I should have added, as new users you may not have been authorised yet.

As you can imagine, Phil is pretty busy at the moment, so try later and he will probably have authorised you by then.
