Our wind out awning has developed a small tear on one of the edges near the front. Has anyone experienced this and if so can I ask what you did to repair it?

Failing that has anyone come across anything to repair it or have any ideas which might work?

I did think to sew it with strong cord but am open to suggestions.

Thanks

You can get a clear repair tape from Fiama, or at least I did but it was some years ago. Probably the exact same stuff as clear duct tape or clear Gorilla repair tape which B&Q sell.

Thanks

I've looked at these patches which look great for a tear mid-awning but as my tear is on an edge I wasn't sure it would be man enough to keep it together.

What do you think?

Thanks

The repair on the Burstner had the repair done on the edge and didnt show any signes of parting.

Google curtain trailer /tent repairers in your area I got an awning repaired by a local lorry curtain repairer which was a permanent fix
they weld in a piece great job
You might also consider a local sailmaker - one who makes sails for dinghies, etc. rather than one of the major yachting sailmakers.

Could it be dismantled as to re-attatch the Awning after the tear ?????..might be a job for a specialist??
I meant by this, is the Tear at the Van end when Awning is fully extended to allow you to cut along shortening the Awning length, & then reattaching to Roller ??? edit:: sorry just seen at front can it be reattached at the front casing end ???
