Dog in disgrace...

Thank you, Dave is fit again now ( subject to repeat scans and followup in UK) but we were over a hour from hospital, he wasbarely conscious, speaking no Portuguese and no idea what had happened. Also due to facial paralysis (ongoing brain tumour) they thought he had a stroke so I needed to ensure his medical history was taken correctly. Treating a brain bleed with anti-coagulants would be fatal! Chloe tried to lick him back into consciousness but was vomitted on for her trouble! I don't think one should ever say.."I would never" as life has a way of proving you wrong! We now have medical history written in Portuguese and the tablet is well and truly deceased.

Please don’t beat yourself up Ruth because as you say life isn’t that simple and accidents happen, in Daves case a serious one where you had no other option but to leave your dog, I don’t think anyone can say exactly don’t do this or don’t do that because you never know what’s round the corner and what’s going to happen or could happen! Ruth I’m pleased to hear that Dave is ok now

Well! Back from our travels. Unpacked the van and thought I would give the tablet one more try before it was thrown out....it turned on! Said "Google" on start up screen then died again...put it on the charger and it got hot but nothing else. Do you think it was dying throes or is there hope? It is an old nexus but has been useful and don't like disposing of anything unnecessarily??

If it was Apple I could suggest someone who could look at it but they only do Apple products. I would think there are folks who do similar with android though. The place I used charge an inspection fee, if you do not want to pay for the repair or if it is not repairable then you lose that payment, if you go ahead it is taken off the bill. Water damage was a fixed price so you knew the maximum before you sent it in.

I got an almost new MacBook fixed for £99 which was almost £800 less than Apple wanted and they were Mac trained engineers.

Not sure on that tablet but the costs may mean it’s not worth going ahead anyway. All depends if you have anything stored on it you want that’s not backed up anywhere else.

Accidents happen, may make you mad briefly at the time but no point stewing on it :)

Put it in the airing cupboard for many moons.

Thanks, Have left it in warm cupboard but really dont think its worth spending money on it. Still doesnt fire up after two months. Maybe try again in a few more but all was backed up so no problem.

Well never say never as there is always an exception but I would say without a repair it’s scrap. On the bright side there is a lot of choice now and a tablet for all budgets. Backup was the important bit and you had that ?
