Weather Report..................

You're all well aware that I'm no more likely to be smug than Pauljenny.
But I just thought that I'd share this with you:

I feel so much better for getting that out in the open.

Colin ???

Not a bad start to the day here, sunshine and feeling very nice - T shirt weather and a gentle breeze.
But then the clouds gathered about 4pm and it tipped it down for a bit.

A bit windy just now with fast moving clouds & blue sky between, but definitely cooler again. Poo! :(

Sister came over today and we got lots of gardening done (after attending hospital for my CT scan this morning). New veggie bed nearly all dug over and some crops planted there and in the greenhouse before the rain came, so not an entirely washed-out day :)

It may not be as warm here on the south coast but we had a spectacular sunset

Smug..? You.. ?
Never... !
We don't hold with smugness on here, do we...?
You were just telling us what it was like.
We've come indoors after being outside all day. The temperature has dropped to a tepid 21 degrees, under a full moon that seems so close that we could throw a stone at it .
Another day.. Another dollar.

well folks i would very much like to report that we..here in n. yorks....have glorious sunshine...brekki outdoors...phew its sweltering........however......that wouldnt be true............however, the weather is true to form as it has been over the past few weeks.......a mixture.........bright and sunny early morning......now dull, overcast..........and dry at the moment.....

A pretty much cloudless sky today.
So we caught up on household chores then walked to the old Cité de Carcassonne up on it's hill:

The Cité was totally renovated in the second half of the 1800's and some say that it was renovated almost too well. It certainly is eye-catching:

And huge. The double walls are each about 3km long and have 52 towers. Nowadays, of course, it caters exclusively for the tourist industry but my thoughts at these sites always go back to the original purpose of the structure.
At some time in the past a poor foot soldier stood at the bottom of these walls with a sword at his back and his sergeant shouting in his ear "Colin, I want you to nip up there and break in. There's an extra bowl of cabbage soup and some dry bread for you tonight if you're successful".

The weather stayed fine all day and was still quite mild for the time of year at 1800:

Carcassonne, Colin... More super, memory- invoking pictures..
except for that final one... Obviously accidental ? I think your camera must have been jolted..? Who would deliberately take a photo of a Pharmacy...?
