TV aerial hanging off

Hi all
I was about to set off home after visiting friends in Bertha and realised the Status TV aerial was hanging on by its thread. Looks like a flying saucer. Had no choice but the cut the thread and gaffer-tape it up for the journey home. I'm wondering if I should replace it like-for-like or try a new-dangled gizmo that you just plug into your telly.
Any opinions on this peeps?

If it is the round flying saucer type I would not bother. A wire coathanger works better than one of those.

Yep avoid flying saucers like the plague.LOL. Moonraker is a powered DTV amplifier aerial

We bought a magnetic bottomed digital Ariel off eBay for £6 just plug it into TV and stick it. On the roof or top of door works great

Ditto. Didn’t work at South Shields last month but that was the first time.

as above. dont even bother to remove it when travelling. fitted on a pvc. re the signal
never been anywhere , so far, where i cant get at least some channels.
i can live with this
