This looks a good idea, I have a steering wheel lock that I use, has anyone got one of these and would they be more difficult to gring off compared to a steering wheel lock.

Thing is, steering wheel lock aside, I could drive your van away with that fitted :(
 
I'm curious how? Although I presume you would operate the handbrake for breaking and I presume you would have to start it in gear to get moving, but it would be very difficult to drive some distance.
 
Please please don’t post anymore of these gadgets ma nerves are wrecked😜every time I see a post with a new security device i think good I’ll get one o them I’ve got more security on my van than a bank it’ll take another two weeks for ma nerves to settle until somebody posts another one then I’m back to a shivering wreck. Good thing though these posts keep you on you’re toes and thinking about it.🤞🏼

Alarm
Wheel lock
Etc etc more time, it's likely to take to bypass security the more likely it is the scrotes will look for something easier.







 
My friend here has fitted a device to hi s van that unless you put a code in before you put the key in the ignition you can not start the motor cost him 50 euros for the parts finding the panel is even a job on is own to put a code in.

Wully I’ve bought a chain it was on the queen elizabeth ship and two massive Yale locks ,I wrap the chain all round the exterior padlock then wrap around again and padlock .looks really secure
I have experienced one issue though
I’m having to wait for the hi-ab to come back to remove the chain so I can put the heating on👺

I have one of these but it is no good as my pedals are fat,works on car.
The one you posted i could make easy so maybe next job.clutch lock.png

Let's be honest Baz. The only thing we can do is slow them down, make it easier to nik the one down the road. Scrotes are scrotes*. If they want your stuff enough, they'll have it, one way or another.
* I hope I haven't offended any one. Sensibilities being what they are.:);)

Spot on..... There is NO one device on the market that will prevent the theft of a vehicle...

My wifes uncle had a attempted car theft,when they could not start it they sh one t all over the seats,and i mean all over the lot.:poop:
 
You can fit things that can easily be cut off with a battery powered cutting disc! But how about fitting something that they can't see? Like maybe a hidden immobilizer switch? Or perhaps a taser in the seat activated by selecting first gear?
 
On my Landrover , simple door switches trigger a latching relay that operates a siren , not piddling car alarm type but full on EX fire engine , the noise is unbearable near vehicle !! It is continuous until hidden disarm switch is opened.
The only downside you need to be able to respond to it before people call police because of the noise :)
 
One member had his Winnebago broken into , Crow bard the door cost around 10 k and several months to repair .he said he would never lock the door again .

Be Fair Baz,
This is one in how many His insurance should have paid out.
Will insurance pay out for an unlocked vehicle I bet they won’t. Any deterrant is better than none. How may joyriders and opportunist thrive carry a cordless angle grinder, Iff professional thrives call they will most likely take choose what you do.

Alf not saying he is right , but the items that were stolen only added up to couple of hundred quid .possibly less than his excess.,these days a locked vehicle is very little deterrent against professional . theft .
