Cold and wet

What has happened to the weather this autumn? Having lived in central Portugal for the last ten years I can not remember the weather being this cold or wet we are having to light fires much earlier and certainly don’t want to take the van away which is a pity as normally we get several days of lovely weather without all the crowds of holiday makers. So anybody traveling this direction make sure you bring lots of winter clothes.

I think it’s all to do with the positioning of the jetstream. It’s been unusually dry in Scotland recently.

Seems to be the case everywhere, unless it’s following us round. Left Blighty veiled in rain clouds, went to Norway, weeks of rain. Escaped to the New Zealand late spring...rain, hail, snow, sleet, wind. Back home next month...I wonder what’s in store for us there?
