ive sorted out the battery drain fault on the vehicle, the inverter was draining the batteries, ive put an isolation switch between battery and inverter in feed and batteries stay fully charged and panel reading is correct showing 13.6 v with 13.6 at the batteries.

Hi really pleased you sorted that out. I had taken it in to auto diagnostics and they said it had a drain but they could not find it.thats when I had the two batterys fitted I would not of thought of the inverter as we never used it and I would not of realised that it used current when not in use ,,,still can't understand why it now charges to 13.6 with isolator and 12.6 without. But then if I knew that I would not be paying people to do the work on it ,,how did you find the drain.

Should be 14.4 on charge and 12.7 after rest.
Generally so, but the voltages seen will depend on the charger fitted and also the ideal voltage on the battery fitted.
The typical motorhome mains charger is set at 13.6V so while low, it sounds like working as designed ( but not treating the the batteries optimally either).

Most Lead Acid batteries want 14.4V, but there are some that need >15V, and some want less (my PbC AGMs charge at 14.1V).
