We are off to Spain for 2 months next week. Then outline plans are in place for Germany/Switzerland in May/June; and Sicily in Sept/Oct.

Interspersed with these trips will be UK based ones: Cardiff and Cheltenham to visit rellies; and we want to try some places more local to us ones as well.

What about you?

Graham :)

Hopefully get some trips to the wilds of Scotland while it’s quiet in February then we’re off to California for some sunshine in March, Isle of Man for the TT in May, Moffat Car rally late June then Citroen Car Club national rally and on to the Dereham meet in July. We plan to go on and tour the South coast, possibly get to an evening display at Shuttleworth on the way back. Bentley club rally in September then back for some more sun for a month in California in October. In between we’ll try and find a few secluded spots for the odd night and maybe get to a motorhomer rally or two. Should keep us occupied!

2020 is a year with no plans at the moment!
We usually spend 6-8 weeks with our "family" in Cuba. But Thomas Cook were the only airline flying from UK to their local airport and we don't fancy the 20 hour indirect flight.

As regards the Motorhome, we usually have 8-9 weeks in EU, but following the accident last year when a Spanish artic ran into the back of us SWMBO is having second thoughts. Plus we are still awaiting repairs and the latest estimate is April - June. It is driveable and habitable so we are having a few days locally to see how she gets on. We are also contemplating the NC900 if we get a motorbike & trailer to replace those destroyed by the artic.

There are quite a few wild-camping spots in Switzerland. Food not that expensive in the obvious supermarkets. Scenery and roads just stunning.
£30 vignette Ok if you spend a month or so

were off to spain end of next week for 3 months going via Netherlands Belgium france same route back home for april then off to Norway Sweden for 3 months in may not even started loading van yet plenty time 🤞

Spain in February, returning through southern France March and early April. Uk until late August, then somewhere in Eastern Europe, not certain where yet, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovenia dunno. Nic’s told me that I have to be home for granddaughters’ birthdays. So home 29th September and Christmas Day then. Counting on my fingers, that leaves me 363 days give or take. I’ll find somewhere to lay my head.
Going to take the opportunity to wish everyone a happy New Years trip planning.

Hi all. Trotter I hope you are going to do the daily post on your trip (like your last trip). I enjoyed it. A down to earth report of a daily life of a motorhomes without any b,s, Great.

Adventureb4DEMentIs 3? I’m a little surprised anyone would want me to waffle on again. But, if my adoring 😉 public demand it, who am I to let people down.
My main reason for doing it in the first place was to let my granddaughter follow my route. Encouragement from Mariesnowgoose of course helped.
So, yes . Let’s face it, nobody is going to twist anyone’s arm to read it. This trip I’ll have Val and Reg to help. As far as Spain anyway.

We can't wait for our trip through France and Spain, packing the van now for our trip to Northern New Year rally at Hollingworth Lake, leaving tomorrow. Then a few days in the Peak District before a catch up with Trotter and sort out the ferry etc. and maybe pick up a few tips from a well travelled motorhomer? Then heading for Ruislip to attend a funeral and maybe check the area out before making our way back home to Durham.

Spain and Portugal April/may particularly Porto/Lisbon to Cadiz as this is the section we have not done before in the mhome.
returning across southern France and up through Germany in June!!!

France twice and or Germany, not too sure about dates yet as the dreaded hospital appointments will take preference.

We`ve also decided to bite the bullet and do Ireland despite the ridiculously expensive ferry compared to Dover - Calais route.

Already been in touch with our Irish aficionado ( trevskoda ) so it should be quite entertaining (y)

:(
I have given up making plans as it never seems to work out. We just head off to a destination and wind up doing something completely different.

This year I had a long trip planned for the South West and Wales once the kids returned to school after the Summer Holidays. In late July we decided to have a week at a C&CC THS only about 25 miles from home. On the fifth day our elderly Whippet suffered a Stroke. As it happened, we had also taken the car as I had to return home to receive a parcel. My Wife was able to get the dog to our Vet quickly and that saved her life. Unfortunately it meant she was too ill to think about any more trips this year. She has slowly recovered and with her medication, she should be OK to travel next year. That's assuming I pass the medical to retain my C1.

We only did 2,350 miles this year and almost 1,000 were when we did the NC500.

I ve booked shelley and me a week at Duinrell in Netherlands in August. We've been before and loved it but now they have a brand new heated outdoor pool with slides!

Scotland in February, perhaps we’ll bump into you.
April to end June down to south of Italy, through Umbria, Marche, Calabria and through all the mountains we can find on the way, back via Venice, and an excuse to go up the Stelvio Pass, through Livigno, and a few more Swiss Passes.
August to end October an exploration of all the dead end valleys we missed in the French Alps, a tour of the Cols of the southern Alps, over the top into Italy and then all the dead end Italian alpine valleys ending up in Switzerland.
Getting our last 2 x summer trips in before the shutters come down.

Just back from Kilmarock, new year rally, February off too Canaries, march -june various rallies in Uk 2 weeks too Hebridies, July Warners Motorhome show Edinburgh, home one day then off to Franco - Ecosse rally in France, tour about 3 weeks.
Think that's enough booked for now lol !!

Love to do france with kids but what do we do with our cat. :(and boat cost over £500 ,that would fuel us round the west of ireland.

We travelled 14 years round France in a Dutch barge with our cats. They seemed to enjoy the destinations...but had a lot to say about the travelling! Depends on the cat though, our first cat enjoyed travelling in the car, the other two preferred mousing on the banks, but always rewarded us with big smelly poohs as soon as we set off in the car!

We take our dog with us , have done past 12 years, know folk who take their cats with them.
