IF you had to choose only 2 out of thee 3 cities above Which 2 ?
Any other info as well please....
I am aware that Quebec and Montreal are very "French" what about Ottawa.
We may manage all 3. !

You should catch all three on you’re route depending on how much time you have.I’ve been to Ottawa and montreal both nice city’s but Montreal is by far the biggest and busiest if I had the choice I’d do Ottawa again. Do the the touristy stuff and get on the road Canada’s small towns are more people friendly found the French Canadians in Montreal more anal than Parisians refusing to speak English even though they could. You will probably find yourself passing through a few provincial parks that cater for camping in a big way but a bit more discreet than European campsites and cheaper I’m not sure but think if you’re in one of these national parks you can’t just wild camp anywhere you have to use the designated Camping areas some are free and some just a few dollar’s You should cross through Algonquin provincial park on you’re route we’ve been there camping a couple of times with tents in the summer we managed to see moose bears eagles the lot. One tip I can give you is fill up with Diesel as often as you can you can drive the best part of a day and not see a garage and defiantly take a fishing rod. Im really looking forward to reading the posts on your trip. Ive only ever been to Ontario and Quebec. Enjoy👍

Try and include Ottawa. Without doing that, there is no real comparing cities. They are each unique in their own way.
More english influence in Ottowa, the capital. Hunting shooting & fishing and eskimos in Quebec and froggy musical Montreal.
If the F1 circuit is still open you can actually drive round the circuit. Lots of casinos as well.
All of them have a native american influence

Montreal is not totally 'French', although I was advised when having a night out, to stick to certain areas of the City Centre. Near there are the Laurentians which are similar to the Lake District here but a bit more grand.

Thanks to all 3 replies.
Wully: Yes aware of the camping scenarios you describe. Whether we skirt or drive through the middle of Algonquin Not sure still comparing routes and distances etc. Will probably buy the pass for Canada parks
Lands43: Yes being the capital Ottawa is very likely
Maingate: Thanks more research in order

I’d say don’t miss Ottawa, if available the parliament tour is excellent. Montreal is much more metropolitan, but well worth a visit. Some amazing churches around Montreal, plus as has been said the park with the F1 track. Last time I was there the track could not be seen for snow and the temperature was -20! I think it may be better for you.

Thanks I have found the Montreal "F1 camping/parking" and it looks handy for the city.

If you can find the time Niagra City for the falls is worth a looksee, but apart from the falls there is not too much more.
Very commercial though, every other shop is a gift shop.

Also if you get time, Toronto is a lovely city. Good boat trip to the nearby island and possibly even an opportunity to see a baseball game. I used to spend a lot of time there and my daughter did a spell at university there.

Lots of planes lost in Lake Ontario over the years. There is some history in Toronto about them.
The remains of a pilot who had a watery grave was found in 2013 after 70 years submerged.
Because of the lake depth, the city of Toronto extracts chilled water for cooling systems directly from the lake.

My folks lived there in toronto for 3 years and hated the cold -25 for almost 6 mths of the year ,then eat alive by midges all summer.
