On the Welsh CV briefing this evening Ken Skates (Wales Economy Minister) stated that tourism will not open until July 9th or even July 30th. Half hour later I tried to log into the C&MC site and "due to high demand" had to wait in a queue only to see the site crash a few minutes later.
Coincidence?

We are not big fans of C&MC sites but, in anticipation of a rush, we had already made a couple of precautionary bookings on Welsh sites starting from July 4th. At least we would have had somewhere to go. No longer, it seems.

I could make a few choice comments but they could be deemed be political which, I believe, is frowned upon on this forum.

I drive into Wales everyday ( working ) and the amouny of caravans and motorhomes I see on the roads is unbelievable . they must be going stealth somewhere

We're still restricted to 5 miles from home in Wales.
I'm going to move my campervan tomorrow. Not started it for six weeks...
That'll be a trip to the docs for my repeat prescription.

Now getting really pissed off with staying home.

@jeffmossy: Interesting. Are you in north or south Wales? Here down south there is absolutely nowhere for a tugger to go. A PVC with local knowledge could tuck themselves away I guess, but dealing with water/waste would be a problem.

Pissed off is better than having or spreading the virus.
IMO England relaxing too soon !

That is my view too.

We live in west Wales and are happy that the rules are still tight here (not 'happy' per se but you know what I mean). The incidences in our Health Board area are the second lowest in Wales and our village has escaped the virus this far (despite some folks blatantly ignoring the rules).

Our MH hasn't moved since 10th March and I haven't even started it!

I really want to get it started and out for a drive into Carmarthen (15 miles) to fill her up and get the T's&P's up to speed but as has been stated we are unable to move more than 5 miles unless its for a genuine reason (food, medicine etc).

I suspect that we will know more a week today and given the relaxation across in England, the pressure will be on the Welsh Government to relax the rules somewhat. I don't expect us to mirror England but there will be some movement I reckon.

If it reduces/stops the spreading of the virus it's a small price to pay though I think.

Just received an email from C&MC. They are opening most sites, including CLs on 4th July in England and 15th July in Scotland. I quote "The timescales for reopening our Club sites in Wales will be published once we have guidance from their Administration." They also say, understandably, that protective measures will be in place.

I thought that the 4th July for England was only an indicative date but maybe they've had a nod and wink from Boris.

Now then, will I be able to drive the 30 miles to escape Wales without being noticed?
