You're taking a dataset and ignoring what doesn't fit. Even the data that is nearer to the value you're trying to calculate. Madness.

I’ve blocked one contributor on this thread. Only reading one side of the argument has made no difference at all.

Btw. It was Phantom asking about doubling the 120 panel he had already fitted. ‘Tis funny how it’s always the same contributor who hijacks a thread to turn it into his own tirade. By blocking it you forgo the bs.

Parked up on a field in Derbyshire on a cloudy wet day been doing some measurements of power consumption. This morning the batteries were showing 12.72v but with not much use are now at 12.3v so guess I need to check them out individually.

It takes piston speed to force the tappered rings out on the bores,if light use they tend to have less pressure and polish the bore,and let oil pass by,also as the engine oil not running to temp sludge and acids build up and require more oil changes,take the rocker cover of a town engine and compair it to a high speed motorway engine,yep much less crud as the deturgents get to do there work.

It start of on solar Colin but some arsehole just ranted on and on and on guess they havent got a life lol
It started as a discussion of how to generate power when solar doesn't work, then onto the technicalities of idling engine, then someone introduced an irrelevant graph and kept asking what it meant.

Just fit as much solar as poss a n d some extra batts .
Get in your van and enjoy ..if your power runs out, go to bed . Get some back up lights that run off AA battery ..job done.
Tbh. It happened very often in the past, then it stopped. Now it’s back. We can only hope temporary 😬
 
Just be careful, I killed a set of PowerFrame battery’s in a little over a year. Don’t rely on any reading on the battery’s if you have solar connected and it’s harvesting, you have to let the battery’s settle with no charge to get a true reading

Again, well said. A voltage reading to determine the battery charged state (and many supposed State of Charge Batteries monitors just translate voltage to a supposed charged state level) is fairly meaningless whenever a battery is under charge or under load.
And if Lithium Batteries, it is pointless at any time.
Furthermore, as a battery ages badly and loses capacity, a voltmeter reading can become very misleading as the voltage when a charge is supplied can go up very rapidly and give a misleading indication of both the battery AND the performance of the charger.

I waited until both leisure batteries were showing fully charged by the solar controller and then disconnected the older one. I'll let it settle overnight and measure the voltage in the morning which I guess should indicate it's true capacity.
