Well, kinda :)

Now I have my new shop running, I need some product reviews posted.
I am not intending to send stuff out for people to review (I'm not Amazon and can't afford to do that kind of thing), but if you look at the shop (https://www.wildebus.com/shop) and see kit you own/use (it doesn't have to have been bought from me - this is for a product review, not a seller review) you can leave a review for that product and a rating out of 5 for it.

For each review you leave for a different product, you will get one entry into a prize draw and the lucky winner will get a £30 voucher to use in the shop, and two runners up will each get a £10 voucher.
When you leave a review it doesn't appear immediately but needs to be approved (anti-spam measures). Please do only review items that you have experience of using. These reviews will also help other people in indentifying kit that is proving popular and reliable so you can help the wider community while potentially winning a prize at the same time!

Going to leave this running until Eastertime and do the draw then. So get reviewing (after all, what else is there to do? can't go anywhere :( )

not mant reviews yet - so your chance of winning is pretty good! get reviewing!!!

Happy to review the items I have purchased but I can't see how to do it. I have clicked on the products but cannot see any option to review them?

Hmmm... When I read this I thought "strange" and went to a product I know you have. And ....

No Review section!

Checked the listing in the 'back end' and somehow the 'enable reviews' option had been unchecked for that product. Very strange.
I have not unchecked the reviews knowingly for any product so if you happen across any where the "Reviews" tab is missing, please let me know (somewhat sillily, if reviews are disabled, the review star rating still appears, which makes little sense).

Fixed now for the AMT. So it is simply a matter of clicking the "Reviews" tab, entering review, name and email and hitting submit. You must give a rating of 1-5 for a product. That cannot be left blank". And once review is approved, it gets displayed. ('approved' in this case is simply it is pending to make sure the site isn't spammed with loads of links to porn sites, etc via comments and reviews (each day have to remove pending spam comments from the blog. very tedious)

Cheers and thanks for trying :)

My Mac does not like your certificate. Would like to help but I can't get past the security screening without altering my internet settings.

As they say when you are stuck on hold on the phone ...."your call is important to us"

Well, "your security is important to us" as well ....

I would try Safari (be quite appropriate actually :) ) but the latest version for Windows is around 6 years old and very insecure :(

I'm afraid it's not an Apple issue David. I have an Apple, I checked it out, and the certificate for the insecure URL tells people that it's for sale, and therefore insecure.

If folk do as I suggested, and add the https everything works as intended.

Please use the link I previously offered and all is well.
☺️

It must be a thing unique to Apple though (and surely you confirming it happens on your Apple would not mean you can confirm it is not an Apple issue either?) - or at least to Safari (if that is what you are using), as the site is set to forward automatically to https if you don't put that in and on every browser I have tried that is just what happens.

If someone is not using https and it doesn't redirect then the certificate is not active anyway so would give an security message (which is why I have set it up to auto-redirect).
What happens if you use a non-apple browser on your apple and use http://www.wildebus.com/shop ? that should auto-redirect. try a private session as well.

Well done David!

I've just checked and the old URL is autodirecting correctly again.

Cheers, HS.

PS. there may be a few instances where in the browser window you see a little exclaimation mark in the padlock (I've pasted a screenshot below with the graphic ringed)

The reason is precisely for the example reason in the brackets - there are a few images that were added to pages before I set the site to an https: default and you can get what is called mixed content.

This is what my Browser says about this - other browsers will maybe use different words but with same meaning

So this is portions of the page, not the whole page, and in this case it is a background image that is not encrypted, the rest of the page is.

If you get this symbol, try a simple page refresh to reload the page and that will often resolve the content and then you are in this situation

Note that this info does not say it is actually secure! It just says the encryption makes it difficult to be viewed and unlikely to be intercepted - not secure and not safe! Even with a padlock symbol, still need to be careful with websites - and talking ANY sites, not just mine!
For this reason, I don't take or record ANY visitors financial information for the shop - any payments are done off-site - either via your own banking app or the paypal site. I don't want to record any of that on my site in order to maximise protection for both parties.
