Following on from the Edinburgh Meet at The Drum we are going to Kelso in the Scottish Borders. The Borders Events Centre is just over the bridge from the town with its bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.

Camp fee £14 per unit per night. Limited Hookups at £4 per night are available. If you need a hook up for health reasons please pm me.

The Covid rules will be those applying in Scotland at the time of the meet and those on the thread Campsite COVID safety rules. If allowed the site has excellent toilets and showers.

How To Book

Please reply to this thread stating:
  1. How many nights you would like to attend (£14 per vehicle per night)
  2. What day you will be arriving on
How To Pay

Please put the exact payment in a sealed envelope then write your username, vehicle registration number and the payment amount on the envelope. This will be collected on arrival by PHIL so please have it ready.

IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND PLEASE LET ME KNOW ON THIS THREAD ONLY

DO NOT USE POSTCODE ON YOUR SAT NAV. It takes you to a different Springwood park where it is difficult to turn round.

The Borders Events Centre (also known as the Border Union Showground) is located just a short walk from the picturesque town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Its cobbled streets and historic buildings are popular with visitors and tourists.
From the site, you can see the outline of the town including Kelso Abbey, Floors Castle and the local point-to-point course. The world famous junction pool on the River Tweed leads visitors from the BEC over the ‘Old Bridge’ and in to the town with its hotels, pubs, restaurants and shops.
The venue is just an hours drive from Edinburgh and 90 minutes from Newcastle and Carlisle making it extremely accessible for the whole of Scotland and Northern England.
40 acres of well maintained parkland which are perfect for a whole range of outdoor events. We regularly welcome vehicle rallies, agricultural sales, caravan clubs and are well suited to fairs, festivals and sporting events.
With the grounds come a number of caravan and camping facilities including 24 hook-ups, a shower and loo block (male, female and disabled) as well as disposal services

Interesting this site is available as is one of the Major Vaccination Hubs in the borders and that activity will be going on past July? (I expect to be going to the Event Centre for that reason around the time of this meet)

Is the vaccination not in the main Hall David? We will be at the end up near the toilets so won't be dragged in and jabbed.

It is, but the way it is laid out with a very expanded one-way system cars will be going past the toilet block to get to the parking near the hall.
The space is big enough, but just a bit surprised opening up for a secondary purpose.

A lot can change in 3 months. There will be other groups in before us so the system may have been modified by then. The Borders Events Centre need the money!
