I am staying at a Camp Site in Greater London, and before I booked I check to see if it was in the London LEZ Zone (be potentially be an extra cost for some older vans. When I checked that also I found my van was exempted (surprisingly) as it happens).
The site is just a few miles outside, but whilst I was checking I noticed something that I really think is very cynical and likely a bit of a unexpected surprise for a good number of people ....
This is the LEZ Charging Zone (https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/low-emission-zone/about-the-lez)

The bit I noticed was down the bottom by Epsom ...
The LEZ generally is fairly logical, following 'natural' routes and features to form a rough circle around London, but for some unusual reason, a lump has been added in the south-west part, with a little gap to allow people to carry on driving aongside the A3

Now I wonder ... could it be that it was extended to capture visitors going to Chessington World of Adventures by any chance? Once the zone is established, it can become much simplier to reduce the exemptions more and more.
