Solar panel voltage metering.

It is ALL about using a phone, whatever it is used for. The example was about using it as a satnav. It is still legal to use a handheld satnav that isn't a phone. Though I can't imagine you'd want to!
Nope....

Not according to the .Gov web site anyway

That's interesting. It certainly makes sense, because I think that setting a satnav takes more attention than a phone call.
The trouble is that we've been here before. The government propaganda told us that the law banned all uses of mobile phones, but neglected to draft the legislation to match. That's why it has had to be done again.
I do hope they have written the letter of the law to match their statement.

I see many satnavs stuck up on top of the dash blocking half the screen, there is going to be loads of truckers caught here as I see them every day with one glued to there ear, only grace is most cops are hiding in there stations due to cov 19, only seen a few over the hols, prob all full and sleeping it off.

At least they won't be distracted from watching telly. ;)

We use a Garmin 780 Camper Sat Nav attached to the redundant] internal mirror. The Pioneer AVC160 Sat Nav bolt on never worked from purchase because of a corrupted SD Card. New starter battery after ECU Failure led to the auto electrician finding a backfeed from vehicle battery yo leisure battery via the Elektroblok EBL99 that was caused by the Pioneer and the Camera being cross wired back in 2016 at the Supplying Dealers! Seems the original purchaser kept Brunhilde on EHU so the battery drainage never bcame an issue, and our Solar Panel and a decent Scottish Summer kept the problem hidden until about 6 weeks ago ...

Due to have AMT12 Battery Conditioner and a couple of other items fitted by David at Wildebus next week, so the alternate day cermonial checking of the starter battery with probes at the 9 o clock position can become a thing of the past ... It's David's fault that I found this Forum; I was only searching for background info on the AMT12 :D
