JUST WONDERING WHO YOU USE AND RECOMEND FOR PERSONAL INSURANCE WHEN YOU DO EXTENDED STAYS ABROAD

Try Saga, Aviva and Staysure to begin with.
Be aware you might need to check fhe number of days when you start the quote and at the end as sometimes the 90 days can reduce dependent on your age and medical alignments.
 
We use Allclear they take account of medical conditions too. They were very good paying out for the months car hire when we fled home at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
 
this time got what i thought as a good deal with saga multi trip policy both covered 1x 72 + 2x blood pressure 1 x diabetes 90 days max per trip got a 15% discount because we were covered by them pre pandemic so £319 became £271

Hello, we have just taken a policy out with Able travel, Gold cover for the 2 of us, 1 aged 60 and 1 aged 59 with previous medical issues. It cost us £219 + £49 for gadget cover for a trip of 60 days.

LV worked out cheapest for us, followed by Saga at 50 quid more.

Both offer 90 days per trip cover from memory.
 
A few years ago I took out one of those bank accounts that included 'extras'. I never usually do this, but the fee was £13 a month and they were giving £200 cash back at the time. I thought I can stop it anytime. Then I started to read the small print and I've kept it ever since! For the £13 fee you get worldwide travel insurance (very comprehensive) and covers trips up to 30 days for the account holder and partner (its not limited to one trip) An extension can be bought too for longer trips, but I've never needed it (I seem to remember reading it was £65) Free breakdown recovery including European cover for motorhomes up to 8 metres in length up to 7.5 tons (including home start) Also family (every person in the household) mobile phone cover and I think they've just increased the handset claim value to £2,000 to cover more expensive phones.

Not for everyone, but at £156 a year for all that its not bad
 
I have a bank account that included free travel insurance for both of us, but it expired as we each passed 70.
They continue to send an annual paper letter reminding us.
 
I am 71 and was having trouble finding an affordable insurance. I was giving up and thinking of going without insurance. As a last try I got a quote from LV, I gave them all my medical conditions. They came back with an annual policy with trips up to 90 days for £125 BUT I am not insured for the medical conditions I gave them. This will insure me for catastrophic events and I am taking the new global health card as this should cover me for medical events and I am comfortable with that.
 
Nationwide was one we've used before. Had to pay extra for the extended days. Hope you're both well Gordon. Your upcoming sounds exciting. Stay safe.
 
We take out an annual policy as we always aim to go away a couple of times a year. Last year we changed to Staysure, one of 3 recommended by Martin Lewis as value for money. Seem a decent. company, but we’ve haven’t claimed off them yet, and I guess that’s the real test.

Just got quotes with Nationwide. Extra costs are £165 for a whole raft of pre-existing conditions and about 14 meds between us. £115 to extend to 84 day trips, and age extension of. £65 as both are over 70. In fact I had expected it to be more.
