We love our current Motorhome and the space and freedom it gives us, but our girls aren’t kids anymore and they definitely don’t want to come on Motorhome holidays with their parents anymore! Reluctantly we have decided to downsize to something a bit smaller. We have found the replacement we want but aren’t too excited by the trade in offer from the dealer and have decided to try to sell privately. We have only had one Motorhome so far, so this is the first time we will have sold one. I was going to get some nice photos and list it on here and Autotrader. Can anyone give any recommendations or advice on where are the best places to advertise?

I was going to wait until I’d got the photos, but I was advised by one of the members on Wildcamping to post some info in the meantime.

I just popped mine on Facebook market place and it sold within 2/3 days but you have to be on your toes I had 8 buyers with dubious names all from the same village in Southern Ireland so once I had sorted the traveling tyre kickers from genuine purchasers all was good.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not on Facebook but my wife is, so I will mention it to her.

if you sell it on e bay sell as a “classified add” you pay a set fee about £20 so no percentage commission, be careful about releasing the vehicle i sold mine the guy did a bank transfer & i would not hand the keys over until i saw the money in my account be upfront about this any honest buyer will understand
