Frgn rip off!

After 6 years, a small hinge bracket on our Indesit Freezer broke..
1½" X 1" weighing under 10 g .
I looked online .
They don't do retail spares.
Checking with the local dealer.
" Yes , no problem , it will be here in 2 working days ..
Pay I advance. ...£24.
"Do you want us to come and fit it ?"..
£14.15 call out and £33 per hour from leaving the depot, 8 miles away, to returning.
The whole tower Fridge Freezer cost £290...
We collected it and paid the £ 24.
Only because Management was fed up with the ice cream falling in her toes.

Went on line to buy a plug for the sink in the van dometic/smev plug about a 1 1/2 inch £26 ffs
Sep 2021, I tried to buy a Foam Seal for the vertical face of the freshwater tank. £13, but Covid Supply Chain problems meant none available and no delivery date forecast. Tried again 6-8 weeks ago ; 'Burstner don't supply the foam seal alone now. You have to buy the Red Ring plus the Foam Seal £42+ and delivery 4-6 weeks'. The proforma invoice includes 2 shipping charges, one for UK delivery, which is a combination of import duties and courier charges for the admin of the Customs paperwork ...

I needed a freezer door flap hinge https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304040512664

Told the chef not to lean on it again and how much it cost, same chef leans on cupboard doors at home, chef denies of course.
You're wrong, Kev. 'Tis the male who leans on the hinges; tis the female who carries out technical stress testing checks to detect any weak spots, and it sounds as though Liz is achieving outstanding performance ratings in this area ... :D

Bought a flat round rubber plug from supermarket in France , its about 3 ins in diameter and 1/8 thick .
Very flexible and fits most sink holes in the motorhome and on campsites.
There is never a plug in campsite washing up sinks. I think it cost about 4/ 5 euro.

There used be something like that when I was a kid, a universal plug it was white I think and it had a bit of lead in it and was very flat with chamferred edges so it wasn't easily lifted.
