What do people recommend to fit to your Van for extra security. Other than OE Alarms would you recommend fitting one of the Milenco / Fiamma External Door locks, I don't fancy drilling the Van to be honest, thanks Chris.

Aftermarket alarm designed specifically for motorhomes.
Additional door locks for hab doors, external locker/garage doors.
Aftermarket deadlocks for cab doors.
Pedal lock.
Disklok.
Aftermarket immobiliser.
Tracker.

Just for starters!

I bought one van that had deadlocks and deadbolts fitted, dead locks for when it was unattended and deadbolts for when it was in use, they looked very strong.

Look on discounts thread. Ed-locks. Several of us have had these fitted, and will recommend them. They come to you at a time that suits you.

The stronger you make the door the more damage they do breaking in , that's if they don't take the easy option and force a plastic window
That's what the Dealership said when I asked about an External Door Lock, I have a Disklock & Road Wheel Clamp at the mo might get the Motorbike Wheel Lock (Patriot) & fit on my turnaround Drivers Seat. Can only do so much I suppose, if someone wants it they'll have it.

If you want to lock your drivers seat in the backward facing direction, I recommend using one of these locks (as I did).

I think that is the same size as I used but cannot be sure as they come in different sizes. On my van, a Burstner (based on a Renault Master I also fitted a second padlock to the one above. The second one had an alarm in it (with 4 tiny batteries for power). If anyone started messing with the main padlock the alarm went off. When fitted, it was out of sight under the seat base.

A simple cheap discloc might do the job on a seat swivel.

I quite like the look of The Bear lock for my next van. Mainly because its not that common so likely to slowdown the buggers.Plus Diskloc as a visual deterrent, alarm and tracker

I have the Fiamma/Milenco external locks on my lockers. Plus a set of 'Lock em outs' on the windows.

I also carry a very large, heavy Maglite torch in case anyone tries to break in whilst I'm in there! Not to show them the way you understand...

Two questions in one. Deterring the theft of the van then disc lock and that sort of visible immobiliser. If you are worried about breaking in to steal your world then to be honest a determined thief will gain entry. Roof lights, plastic windows or the good old brick through the side window. Where you park if leaving the van is as important as alarms and the like. I always leave a cancelled credit card and some euros in the passenger side glove box hoping it is a smash and grab type of theft hoping they will take that and scarper. If worried about breaking in while you are asleep or even the knock on the door asking for “help” prior to forcing an entry then my last ditch deterrent is a large can of wasp killer with the nozzle opened out slightly to give a better range and concentration. We never use outside blinds, park where we can drive forwards out of the spot and always have the van keys on the drivers side sunvisor so they just drop in your lap as you get into the seat. Having said all that we have never yet had a problem….

When insurance companies specify extra security they usually demand a Thatcham compliant tracker. My insurance, NFU give a security discount for Thatcham trackers but not for any other devices such as alarms. This suggests that they think trackers help but not much else does.

I don't use anything if it goes it's gone I'll take the money, it's only a van.

Thing is with Trackers it's gone ....OK if you really want it back !.
