New Passport

With all the doom and gloom online about the various UK Gov services I thought I had better get going with my passport application. Filled everything in online and got an email telling me where to send the old one. It also mentioned very long delays in processing times and if I had not had any communication from them for 6 weeks I could pay for priority service another £75 + Anyway been getting emails and now have one that says it's been printed and will be on its way shortly. We'll done Passport Office. 13 days to get through the system.

UK Passports are printed by Thales Group, I believe; a French company. IIRC, UK Government took the contract away from DeLaRue shortly after the Referendum

We started getting Tory literature yesterday, I think I'll order a shredder.

Kev, Thales in turn sub-contracted the UK Passport printing to Poland, via Gemalto [which may be a Thales subsidiary]. De la Rue lost the contract in 2018

New Passport arrived 1st May its a bit different to the old one with 3 photographs, one in glorious colour. First page is thick plastic with all the details embedded inside. Looks really good.

filled in my renewal application form on Monday and new passport arrived Friday the same week, cant get much better than that !
