What is this socket?

Just bought a 2021 Elddis and this socket is on the top of the dash, just behind the windscreen. Can anyone tell me what it is for?

It is normally covered by a black button type cover, it is I believe where the temperature sensor would be fitted for a van with auto air con.

sensor for solar gain through the windscreen for fully automatic climate control when fitted

It looks like the entire solar gain sensor has suffered from a dose of clobberitis and has gone walkies Aircon may not be behaving properly anymore.

Both my AC units in my Crafter have been very handy these last two weeks

It's a sensor. Normally has a black cover. Looks like someone has knocked the top off.
