Having sold the mobility scooter, I'm thinking of buying this, I saw a old chap up in Scotland with one and he said it was a brilliant bit of kit and not too pricey so, I had a bit of back and forth with the company and I'm on the point of jumping in, I can use Paypal and do it over three months which fits fine with my meagre finances.

But, I still have the same issues of charging but this does come with two batteries, but only needs one to rum max miles on the 10ah one is 12 miles so the other could be in the van on charge now and then.

The inverter is the same as before a 300w and is now hard wired to the leisure battery I didn't like having it in the ciggy socket much.

But!! it comes with a 24V 2Amp charger, so is there a ciggy socket charger 4a or more that will charge a 10ah and a 13ah 24v battery, I have looked but may have not put in the right form of words to get a result.

I'm not keen to upgrade the vans electricals as I just don't have the dosh, our recent trip, the clutch and the upcoming ferry costs to Ireland have seriously dented the old wallet, & I don't do credit cards.

Try mobility scooter car charger in your search Kev. Lots about just need to make sure the plug is right one

I bought mine from a mobility shop via ebay for less than £30 brand new but was a few years back

Never mind, you are after lithium ion again so the posted charger won't do

I think I need 4 amp too to lessen the time it needs to charge.

Rang them anyway but they don't get involved with Lithium.

I found some but they are expensive so ddnt bother posting. I found a company selling a folding power chair similar to the one you posted for £700 but can't find it again now :(

Is this worth looking at?

Yes looked at a few like that but getting info is like extracting teeth the one in my OP answered ALL my questions in about two hours is UK based in Harlow, so it is deffo looking like the one, having two batteries but only needing one and a range on each of 12-15 miles wins hands down for us.

As for charging with a 240v one we did consider maybe once a week having a long slow lunch somewhere and plugging in, I don't mind paying for the leccy of course, but I'd have more peace of mind if I could chuck in a few amps while driving as we tend to do at least 50 miles a day, also the drive can be disengaged and Liz can just push me in flat places.

I asked him and he said

"I don’t stock 4a chargers I am afraid. I keep the amps lower not to force into the lithium battery to prolong life"

Not knowing anything does that makes sense?

I am no expert so may be worth checking some rc sites if nobody here joins in but I am not sure charging L-Ion at a higher rate is a good idea.

Remind me why you can't use the 300W inverter and a mains plug model please?

I can, but I find it a phaff to be honest too much plugging and unplugging and of course remembering to do both, I don't like leaving things plugged in, plus wear and tear on those tiny scooter sockets.

Plus it's under the bed at the back now so less accessible to me, I hate kneeling and Liz can't.

Also if I have both I could if need be charge both at the same time.

It must be for some people I'm almost glad I'm not one of them.

I've gone for the wheelchair 3 interest free payment via Paypal.

Useful page if even a thicko can use it :D :D

Now before I go and buy the car 24v charger is there any good reason not to do so please.

not just going to stick with an 240V and use the inverter?

I like the option of a back up and charging from either or even both David, just checking to make sure it was okay to do so.

fair enough - and with the second charger and two batteries you can supercharge the process :)
