The Wakhan Passage. Afghanistan...

I was thinking of boxing you up and sending you there, it's so bleeding cold you may grow to like windows, Linux will not keep you warm.

In the 70s & 80 I used to drive a truck from the UK to Eastern Europe and the Middle East, If I was going to Iran I would transit Eastern Turkey driving over the old Tahir pass being the Silk Road of Hannibal, over 8000+ft above sea level.
.
Pusey’s video reminds me so much of the road carved up to the top of the Tahir mountains. Nearly ok in the summer, cautious when wet, frighting in the winter. we drove articulated trucks, mostly overloaded as we earned by trip as well as load.

Its been closed for years now as to dangerous, A tarmac road further south now crosses into Iran. Different times!!!

I also know some of the Silk Route, having passed through the Torugart Pass in 2006. The border guards had given up waiting and gone home, but fortunately they kindly returned when they heard we'd arrived. That Pass isn't too far from Kev's video, and also brough back memories.
