I ended up using a sim I pad 10” with google maps.
So far it’s never let me down so use it all the time now. The only thing that has changed is I have a Moho wi fi now that I also use in the car so any iPad would be ok now …

Not sure what you're asking for Ken, can you elaborate a bit?

this is two 5” screens side by side allowing camera and sat nav on one screen but i have seen some that are a 9””/10”” screen IMG_1944.png

We have a Garmin 780 Camper SatNav, standalone model plus a Garmin BC40 battery powered, number plate mounted camera that links automatically via Bluetooth. Perfect for reversing with the bikes on the rack, with the parking lines appearing on the Satnva screen. And the camera unclips when parked up to avoid potential theft

can't you get apple car play on your van radio screen by just plugging in the phone with via usb?

no sue not in the van that’s the method i use in the car & want to replicate

I use a Garmin standalone I think a 760 and what I like is the lifetime free map updates. Van has apple play and android auto, one day I'll find out how to use them🤪
Are you aware that lifetime is only production lifetime not for as long as you have the unit!

Not really Jeff basically I want a large screen sat nav that will take apple car play not to replace the radio etc

Would it not be just as easy to replace the radio unit for one of the android double din units, with built in sat nav, in most cases this would be a straight forward swap

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are great. You get a choice of map apps, they are kept up to date and the traffic info is immediate. My motorhome has a built in motorhome sat nav as well as Apple CarPlay, I use the CarPlay not the built in one that pretends to know which roads are suitable but gets it wrong.

My car has a very basic radio so I bought a Carpuride 7” Carplay/Auto screen which works really well.

problem is i’m happy with the zetec unit fitted in hymer’s of this age it’s just that in 2015 zetec-google fell out and the maps can’t be updated i’ve seen several complete replacements anything fron £250 to a thousand pounds , i have often very successfully used my old i pad mini as a sat nav might just set that up properly instead of holding it in place with elastic lol

They also do a 10" one (y)

EDIT: They are available on Amazon
