while we were away for new year our neighbour a 79 yr old widow was sitting in her lounge listening to the wind blowing and the rain lashing down , she has an impressive display of xmas ornaments one being a 3ft acrylic snowman he was blown of the steps head broke and the rain shorted the electrics tripping the house mains , our neighbour didn’t realise this at the time she was stuck full stretch in her electric recliner took her over 20 mins to climb out

How did folk live before electric came about, many homes where we used to live in the sixties did not have lecy.

to be fair tim she was laughing as she told me the story particularly the bit where after about ten minutes she had got half way up the back stopped for a rest & slid back down

'There's laid back, and there's trapped ...' . And the latter dawns on one about 5 seconds before one realises that waiting until the telly adverts to have a pee was not the best idea ...
