Parking now in Grimsby

Going to take me being paid more than £12 to stop in Cleethorpes/Grimsby ...

When I worked in Grimsby there was a woman that worked in the fish processing factory that had EVOL tattooed on her knuckles ...
Asked her what that was about to be told that it was supposed to read LOVE but she had done it in the mirror ...

Cleethorpes is like Morecambe but less scenic .

Don't get me wrong There ARE some lovely bits of that coast ....

BUT Grimsby and cleethorpes aren't it for me I'm afraid ...
Let alone paying

Liz and I used to go out for night drives, you know when fuel wasn'tso stupidly priced, we ended up there one Friday night, it took us ages to get out of the hole, no sat nag and crap signage.

Ther is a small 30/50 van site in the same place but hidden from the road full faculties not much more money 30 seconds to the dunes ,short3..4 min walk to Chinese buffet 10 min walk to carvery or chippy 2 min walk to pub, nice quiet secluded site,we go for a couple of nights once twice a year(not in main season)

So, as usual, the council think that motorhomes are an eyesore and undesirable in their car parks........................................................................................Unless you pay! :cautious:

I went for a job interview in that area so camped at Cleethorpes. It was dark when we arrived so we erected the tent by the car headlights: next day it wouldn't turn over! Fortunately it was a Moggie Traveller so had a starting handle BUT I didn't get the job.

What a lot of moaners! Whether you want to stay or not, it is another place for those who want to go, to park up and that should be applauded.
Qualified yes to all of that . Some other councils providing Aires . With or without facilities going rate seems to be £10+ . Some in car parks where cars stay free overnight !
Travelling in France and Spain for the last 4 weeks . Paid 6€ for one aire and fees for facilities (2 , 4 ,and 5€} .
Not dodging chargeable Aires only stopped in one so far

But this is not France or Spain. In the UK all land is owned and we have to abide by what thodse owners want to do, or not go.

As a general comment: I keep seeing people saying how great Europe is (and I agree, we love it!) and how there are free Aires over there. I wonder why no one ever mentions Germany in that?
