A law passed in January only came to light when 3 campers were fined €300 for parking by a beach.
The law passed at night states motorhomes cannot park AT ALL on public land. And only one at a time on private land. So this will impact on being able to shop, go for a meal or visit an attraction.

Greece was on my list of places to go to, not any more!!

Greece farmers will now start opening their slopy, cow dropping fields, calling them camp sites and charging €60 a night.
However, as there won't be any tourists, good luck to them!

So is this a benefit of having self built campers which are registered as ‘Van with Windows’?

I am struggling to think that this might be actually true, and not a scam.

It is correct typing from Greece at this moment.
It's been caused by inconsiderate owners no more to be said.
Also a lack of appropriate infrastructure.
The Hellenic motorhome association are raising funds for a legal challenge or such like.
My information which is second hand say's that the loss to the economy is very small but who knows.
The motorhome dealers are incensed as it applies to domestic owners as well.
It also applies to caravans parked, effectively if enforced can and does include parking for shopping on private or public land.
I have no idea what the eventually outcome will be, however at this moment having spoken to a few motorhome visitors they seem very unaware of the law until they look it up and seem shocked. One couple from the Netherlands said they visited every year for over 15 years.
Hopefully a solution will be achieved.

Sounds worse than when His Sadiqship banished ordinary vehicles from inside the M25. My friend bought a new Nissan van and converted it so he could take his disabled dad out in his wheelchair. Along comes this "You must buy another shiny new vehicle and discard your perfectly good one" law and he had to more or less give away the vehicle for £850 when without the law it would have been £3500. He lives 1 1/2 miles inside the M25. To visit him I would have to park outside the M25 and get a train. Next in line will be "electric vehicles only" and a lot of them wouldn't even be able to drive from one side of London to the other without a 2 hour recharge, if they can find a working charger.

Greek owners of motorhomes will be in the same situation. How will they extract their motorhomes from Greece and find buyers for them?

You can drive your motorhome but not park anywhere.
I understand that one person has been placed in prison but not first hand just reported in a paper.
I believe that it will change but not sure when.
