A wee update on the lock situ. Replacement barrel arrived yesterday, quick look at YouTube for fitting detail, looked simple.
Removal key would not fit fubared lock for removal. Apparently if the lock is in the locked position, it cannot be removed using removal tool.
Stripped handle from camper and tripped it down further and with ease having access to a vice now, still no joy to remove barrel. I pretty much gave up and refitted, here’s a thing though, although a fiddle, I can now lock door from outside using key
wait a minute though, it won’t open from outside using key 
lol. I didn’t want to force the barrel out, as is, from the outside all looks well to an outsider, along with the lockable swing arm over door device, which helps with external door security, no issue to lock/unlock internally.
I think my best plan is to install a new dead lock either above or below the door handle.
