Do you think the crims may have pumped some gas into your moho to keep you asleep?

The stories about gas are ALL rubbish.
It isn't possible to gas the occupants fast enough to put them asleep without huge risk of killing them.

It definitely happens, I know of a family who were targeted in their sleep and the house was ransacked, luckily nobody was hurt inc the 2 teenage daughters.

You don't. You know of a family that was targeted by sneak thieves. Filling a house with anaesthetic gas enough to knock out all the occupants, yet not affect the thieves? Just not happening.

You'd need a bloody tanker for enough gas to do a house, maybe a more localised aerosol once close to people.

If I’m in an area I feel extra security is needed my first choice is simply move on,

If for some reason I have to stay put then I run a ratchet strap between cab door handles and tighten it, another from the jab door handle to the kitchen unit.

Vibration alarms are always turned on on side windows anyway (turn off when driving)

If the area is of real concern the I’ll leave the jacks up.

But again if I feel this is all required I’d move.

One tip I’ve picked up over the years is look around you, broken glass, damaged parts, discarded food containers etc should make you think on.

Most important remember such events as experienced by the OP are actually quite rare, you hear of a dozen attacks in a particular region because people report it and tell others, but what you don’t hear is in the same time scale 240,000 nights were spend by people who had a great time.

Just thought about this, 2 broom handles cut down to size, tape together and you have a door bar, in my van with it in place the door will open, but only about an inch, enough to trigger the alarm. It also gives you a weapon if your into that.
