Remis blind problem

I've had this issue since we go the van, I've tried WD40 and Silicone grease but ti makes nor difference, sometimes it just falls apart, but gows back together easily, often I don't close it all the way as you can't see into the van just the dash and far side of the cab.

I have compared it with the driver's side, and I cannot see any difference. There doesn't appear to be anything broken that I can see. I am assuming that a kid or a passenger unfamiliar with Remis blinds has caused the problem.

Any ideas?

Irritating as f*** . Had similar problem on previous van . Suspected only thing to do was remove and refit . Too footery for me to do . You may be more able ?

Not me Allan, I find almost everything awkward nowadays, assuming I can actually see what I'm "mending" at all, hence the video, trying at the end to get a better angle in it.

Looks like the plastic outer frame is to tight against the door frame. The blind should only lock against where handle is.
Maybe frame needs a bit of heat and a pull to open it up a little.

We have 3 failed remis blinds in a 5 month old van, they are ridiculously flimsy.

I took them all apart, fixed them and improved them, just the usual cheap crap these days

I forgot, I took some pictures the other day.

And there isn't any tight spots, it seems to only be where the two black parts telescope together.

Have you tried spraying the black runners etc with silicone spray? Same stuff you would lube toilet moving parts with.
That's exactly what I did spray it with, the just jam part way up, but they don't feel tight once freed.

That's a strange one and difficult for me to understand without actually seeing them in flesh unfortunately.
I had a look at mine which are the same as yours and could only see the runners or the tightness of frame causing operation problems.
Would you be able to make a video of you operating the blinds with someone else filming ? Dunno if theres a facility to upload a video on here but if there is it might help to see whats happening 🤔
Are the runners inside still straight and not distorted?

PS I didnt actually mean a video of you, just someone operating the blinds as you would without trying to hold camera at same time 🤣🤣

Just noticed youtube video again.
It looks to me like the telescopic part that comes out along the top is jamming and wont go back in again when the blinds are trying to be put back in open position.
So this would I expect be the black telescopic part along the top of the blind either being to tight in the frame , buckled or requiring a bit of lube sprayed up into it.
The telescopic part needs to retract as the blind is being opened and for some reason its not doing this.

That's pretty much what I have been saying, but why is it jamming, it slides fine one minute, then not, it sometimes comes apart if I have to get rough with it, but it goes together easily enough, it isn't in a tight spot, the top and bottom have plenty of space inside and out.

Maybe when it's at a certain angle it becomes difficult due to damage it may have, once its past that point it becomes easy again. Things like this that are not obvious are difficult to diagnose without seeing them so I might be wrong, however looking at the youtube video I would say its likely to do with that top black telescopic part jamming up whilst retracting.
