Blue badge parking.

We pulled into Asda yesterday for a bit of shopping, as we parked in the BB bay, the car next to me had no badge, calmly sat there smoking, so I put my best glaring face on, totally ignored as usual.

We went in, and I quickly had to come back out. I have zero need to inspect the crap on every damned shelf.

Anyway, I got back in the car, smoker is still there, then I notice this Parking Eye bloke in Hi Vis taking pictures of two cars which were in BB bays, I assumed they had no badges which he later confirmed, he eventually started walking towards us, he walked right past the smoker, noticed it had no badge and did feck all.

We got talking while I waited interminably for Liz, anything less than 30 minutes is a win.

He said it was an awful job, but he felt the genuine BB holders had to be looked after, so I asked why he didn't ticket the smoker; he was not allowed to ticket a running vehicle or one where the driver was still in the car, he could not photograph the car or anything, as officially it wasn't parked, only waiting, the smoker was there all the time we were.

Why is there not a website where we could take a picture of the empty dash and the reg of the car and email it to DVLA or somewhere, where they could be dealt with.

I like the way they do it in France, not a problem to park there with a BB, they even have a sign under lot of them, something like Take my space, Take my handicap.

Blue Badge rules have just changed. maybe fag ash Lil is breaking the Law now?

There was a youtube video earlier (which I did not watch) but you could look for it and view the changes.

This was yesterday Jim, and in a private carpark, so may be different in a council carpark where they are better informed.

Liz is thinking of applying for one, she has needs but I drive her around so not needed it.

She should get one if she is entitled to have one. That way if she gets a lift from one of her friends to go to shops or whatever, she would have the benefit of it.

I have a BB. I parked at the Doctors to pick up pills with BB clearly displayed. I was not well so I asked my husband to pick them up for me. The trafic warden came to me and said that I was illegally parked. I asked why, obviously. She pointed out the red lettering on the badge which said it was specifically for my benefit not my husbands. I said it was for my benefit he was picking up my pills because I felt unwell. She insisted that I should have picked up my pills myself and very reverently said she would not book me this time but not to do it in the future. I could not beleive it. So check your blue badge.

The problem is if you go onto the application page she is NOT entitled, she only needs one because when they did here knees 13 years ago they fitted the wrong hinge??? and she doesn't have enough bend to get out of the door in a normal space, she is 70 now and where she could wangle herself out 13 years ago, she now finds it impossible, hence me driving her, she can walk fine for a little way, but unless she can find a end space nearby, she's stuffed, she can't park in a normal bay in case someone parks too close and she can't open the door wide enough.
