A very interesting unfinished project camper.

@Pudsey Bear fyi
That is an O&H ex A&E Ambulance.
O&H are the absolute worst of all the current converters this van is built with zero effective insulation and it petty obvious this owner hasn’t bother to strip it to install any

I am amazed it got an mot eventually as a class IV, a mattress lobbed in tne back of a grotty van isn’t a motor caravan in my books

“It is zero rated for VED” is rubbish, what the seller actually means is he’s not told the DVLA it’s been converted to electric it’s still recorded as a diesel I suspect to change it to be properly road legal on the V5 may require relevant SVA checks etc done.

So my guess is that’s not straightforward and probably the real reason for selling, right now he is simply a dishonest dishonourable VED evader paying zero ved because he has not had the decency to change the taxation class from Ambulance to PHGV.

I feel sorry for any mug that buys it and thinks he can drive penalty free in any of the scam congestion zones!

As you know more than most, could I suggest you report it to eBay.

Not for you then ?

Nope I’ve converted three of my own ex ambulances and worked on several of this type and even featured one particularly grotty example of this type on my YouTube channel.

This ones a real Frankenstein of a conversion the ev install is interesting but it’s very incomplete and I suspect it is going to be an absolute money pit to finish off.

It not a problem selling ex Ambulances on eBay there are literally hundreds on their every week, many are sold on to genuine medical services providers and are perfectly entitled to remain zero rated for ved. However the vast majority become burger vans, motor caravans, flat beds, poodle parlours etc and then the ved exemption no longer applies.

The onus is always on the purchasers to apply to the dvla to change the taxation class, the dishonest choose not too, some get away with it for awhile but once caught the vans are usually seized until road legal, which with the fines and pound fees can get quite expensive especially as DVLA can take many weeks to process a correctly submitted application and even longer when the applicant isn’t very bright and cant fill in a simple form correctly!

Sadly many dishonest traders sell these on to gullible buyers as being ved exempt some find out the hard way that the Ved will be £700+ for the most polluting vans

I admin the Facebook ambulance converters group and we have a hard and fast rule to prevent dishonest traders selling vans exploiting peoples gullible nature and to remind all new members of their obligations, we don’t allow any discussion condoning or promoting ved evasion.
