Sheffield very wet , very windy and much colder decided to run the heating

Now that's big decision, in Yorkshire.
A Barnsley guy said to his wife, " Get yer coat.. Ahm off to ' t club"
" But we don't usually go out on Wednesdays" she said.

"Tha's not goin, nowhere ", Said he....
" Ahm turnin' ' t heating off."

Whilst I was away in the camper van, a neighbour told Mrs HS that their central heating had been on for days.

On my return, my weak reminder that no professional company put their central heating until 1st October didn't seem to cut the mustard.

For a quiet life I put ours on and poured a large glass of whisky. It's only money, and to be honest, it's rather cosy.

Well the promised sun didn't arrive yesterday and we are still stuck with this constant 25+ mph westerly. A little brighter this morning with another promise of sunshine later, still around 19°.

We've a very windy day with reports of fallen trees already blocking roads.

This morning will remain dry with sunny periods, although cloud will build by the afternoon bringing scattered showers, some heavy.

It’s truly horrible today with heavy rain and gales. I put the heating on yesterday and initially it wouldn’t turn off. Maybe a sticky valve because it seems ok now. 🌧

Cloudy with spells of rain pushing in from the SW. Some localised showers may be heavy, with a high of 18°.

Parked very close to Hook of Holland ferry terminal.
Hasn’t stopped raining since entering Germany, at one point we were literally being blown around the road.
Planned to have a short walk around town tomorrow, but unless it stops raining I doubt that’ll happen.
