My daughter is studying to be a Mental health Councillor.
She would value any response from the more mature generation about the effect of walking and talking.
I am aware that a fair few on, here, have difficulty doing both simultaneously..
Here's the link.

Also, please could you do my research group at college a favour by answering (and sharing online if you like) our questionnaire about walking and talking? https://forms.office.com/pages/resp...GSzNHWkpYQzM4NlNaQTdHVkRMTC4u&route=shorturl?
Thanks, on her behalf

I've just done the survey.
It's dead easy..
Under 30 seconds.

Sorry Dave.
Fat finger failure

Thanks.

Thanks to everyone..
She's over the moon with your responses.
Even negative views count.

Just checking I haven't already answered. . . . no I haven't.
Recently I sought some medical advice on my diminishing memory faculties. After the initial stages I went to see a consultant at a hospital. It was utterly enlightening. One thing he did was to take me out into the corridor and said 'Walk to the end of the corridor". I walked to the end of the corridor, stepping properly. Then he said "walk back and recite the months of the year starting with January". I walked back and recited the months of the year coherently. Then he said "Walk back again to the other end and recite the months of the year backwards starting with December". I started walking. "December November . .paused walking . .October . .longer pause, , , September" . . .and so on. He explained that your brain works a bit like your muscles. When you are young with all your faculties you can ride a bike and sing a song. Your brain is doing two or more activities at once. Your brain is slowing down so although it can make your legs walk, it finds difficulty making your legs walk and having to think hard about reversing the months of the year. So when you are reversing the months of the year, you cannot walk at the same time. I thought all this stuff was absolutely fascinating and it explains a lot about me. I am constantly forgetting that for example at the moment, I must be 1) making sausage rolls for Christmas, 2) book a 'park on my drive' slot, 3) drain the motorhome water system before it freezes, 4) SORN the camper before November 31st, 5) pack suitcases for our pre-christmas cruise, 6) make mince pies . . . . . .
Now, having listed all my jobs on the forum, I need to write them on a bit of paper, and not forget where I put the bit of paper otherwise I'll be in a right stew . .
I'll get on and do the questionnaire . . . .

Oh, the link doesn't work, "Currently not accepting responses" so @Pauljenny if I can be any help please let me know.

I Sympathise with you.
We both have just about got over long covid.
We have little notes for memory joggers.
Trouble is, we forget to look at them.
😀

@Pauljenny OOH. POSH. Latin! 🤓

You are not doing too bad if you can remember where you put them.
