Nice one Ken. See you around March. Still got hospital stuff to do, plus a wedding anniversary thingie.
‘Spose I ought to be here for this one. I don’t think just holding Nic’s photo in Maria’s restaurant would hack it for this time.

yes gordon just got back from the restaurant a very nice lamb shank and can of 1664 jan had the same with bottle of rose €37 considering how nice it was good value , park up at carrefour 5 mins after we get off full day running tomorrows just not decided whether we’re going clockwise or anti yet 🤔🫣

I had a pm from a friend, and forum member earlier today. They were both woken by the storm in their house in rural Portugal. A tree fell onto their house, virtually destroying it. Luckily they were both unhurt.

Ruth and Dave are in safe hands.
Lovely couple and a joyful bad influence.
They are under our kitchen window .
Hope they don't snore too loud.

Phew! At times like these, good friends are priceless. I can’t speak for Dave and Ruth, but you have made me feel much better. Thank you.

House not destroyed, but not for want of trying! Apparently the winds hit 208km/hr which is a record! Still in blackout there with no power or communication and absolute devastation of trees, property, and infrastructure. Need cash as no ATMs and cards not accepted if shop/garage is open. Sanctuary sought and received "down south" (thanks PaulJenny) where we have parked up till tomorrow when we have booked accommodation for a few more nights. Accomodation costs similar to campsites this time of year so an easy decision!

So much for the weather forecast.
Completely wrong.
They've mixed us up with Narnia again.
Received 2 government weather messages.
One saying the rain will stop soon.
Then another advising of heavy rainfall and to avoid flooding.
I dunno..!

You’ve got a month to sort it. I wouldn’t want to travel 1500 miles to get wet.. I can do that here 😤😘🌧️

stayed wet all day gordon so just kept driving have ended up 10 mls from spanish border decided to go clockwise around med to visit friends and family got 12 days to get to pomarao for robs birthday

I've been in Spain since the 10th January, it's been the worse winter we have experienced since 2018, a few nights there was a storm and it wrecked loads of awnings that were still up on the site, they were all in the skip the following day. We have had some nice days, but not as many as last season, we are in the Costa blanca region. We had to fly back to the UK on the 25th January for our granddaughters birthday, now that was cold and wet compared to here.

We flew back to Alicante on the 26th with good old Ryanair for €35 return each and managed to bag row 16, that has a lot more legroom because it's by the emergency exits on the wings, conned Ryanair as I made it two separate bookings, so they sat us next to each other when they allocated our seats, normally if you don't pay for a seat they stick you in the middle seats as far apart from one another, as possible. We are here until the end of March.
