Has anyone used the Globelink wifi system. If so how good is it

I think you mean Globelinker ? Not used it, but it’s just a 4/5g router with a different name so should work fine, reviews look good.

My only concern would be buying data, it looks as if you can only buy data from them, where as other devises allow you to look around for best deals, when I compare the data cost to my prepaid unlimited 3 data plan via scancom it’s expensive, and more importantly if they put your price up or go bust your stuck.

I am on 3 at the moment and satisfied but I was just making enquries for the odd blind spots.

I haven't used it but I think the point is they don't use just one network, they connect you to the network with strongest signal where you are but it does seem a bit expensive 🤔

Del

Data certainly seems expensive and I would be very reluctant to buy a device that is tied to one (overseas) provider. I would be looking for an alternative UK MVNO as a fallback, ideally with a flexible package that can be activated as required.

The overseas bit wouldn't bother me as I dont go. Unable to travel that far now.

My point was that the provider appears not to be based in the UK, so potentially less committed to UK customers at some indeterminate future time.

The other cheaper and simpler option is to get an old mobile phone (ideally unlocked) and buy a data plan sim (pre-paid offers good value) and set that up as a mobile hotspot.

https://www.scancom.co.uk/collections/ee-preloaded (they offer different network choices)

That way there’s no monthly bill and you can save data on your everyday phone contract.
