Hi it would be handy to have a full awning to make an extra room should my daughter and son in law and the two grandchildren want to come away with us to a caravan site, from time to time. I looked at the Kampa Pro Rally 330 inflatable driveaway awning which was a £1050, I also looked at the awnings on the Fiamma stand, they looked versitile and for the two sides and front in the heavy duty, quick clip one was £790.00 complete with everything you needed, it looked quite sturdy, has anyone got this system and are they happy with it. Cheers David

We've had a Fiamma awning in the past and to be honest it was hardly ever used, weighed a ton and took up too much room when stored. Also needed to be well pegged down if weather turned. So yes it does the job but I'd think long and hard as to whether you would use it enough, a tent is a lot easier for extended family visits.

Thanks for your reply, My daughter bought a tent this year, but not sure if a caravan site would allow us to have it next to the motorhome and would probably want to charge us extra as it is a tent as opposed to an awning, that someone could sleep in.

I have a Fiamma awning (the CaravanStore rather than the F45).

And with that I also have the Fiamma Privacy Room (4 Metre wide version) with the quick-clip system, side walls and front sections.
I find it very good and quick to put up. In terms of taking up room, I don't think so personally. I have tended to just drop it on the bed when we head away and then it comes out and is put up as part of the general pitch setup.
I also have the Fiamma Carpet and a full set of curtains!

On my previous camper I used a Kyham Motordome Sleeper. That was more roomy but took a fair bit more effort to put up.

Of course a key difference is do you want to be able to go away in your vehicle during the day if staying somewhere for a couple of nights or longer? The attached room will have to be taken down each time whereas the driveway awning (really an attached tent) can be detached and left up, which could be very handy for some.

Overall, I prefer the attached Privacy Room for its simplicity and quick setup time. I never once detached the Motordome Sleeper once up in fact, so that driveway aspect was irrelevant to me personally.

We have kyham quick erect drive away awning brilliant bit of kit plenty of room and as the name suggests very quick to put up and take down you can get sleeping compartment as well think there about £500 and extra for the sleeping compartment

Little tip for anyone looking ..... Kyham have a major discount sale every year and the Motordome Quick-erect Awnings (why are they called awnings?? they are tents!) can be had direct at 50% off.
If looking for next season, worthwhile waiting for this sale to come along again as it will be before next Springtime.

Sounds great, must look out for that sale. Cheers

Just had a look on the timings of previous sales ... the last big one seems to be last Christmas .... If you used the code "FLASH60" you would get 60% off! that was a one-day only sale for Boxing Day 2017. There was the same sale the previous year the exact same date as well apparently, so one to look out for in a couple of months.

FWIW, I bought my Motordome from the Khyam stand at the NEC in Feb 2016 - saved around £150 (didn't know they had these sales at the time!).
I got my Fiamma Privacy Room as a customer return from company on eBay - saved a decent amount that way :)

Awning rooms Mean Extra payload ! ! !

Do you have a rollout awning already fitted ?

If so perhaps lillpad sides and fronts which are extremely light could do ?

Thanks definitely something to look out for.

I have a 3m medium F45s privacy room for sale for £250 if anyone reading this is interested. It is not perfect but is in good condition, it has only been used 3 times.

A good price indeed there :)

as an aside, if someone is interested but needs bigger (or even smaller?) then the 3 Metre wide version, the front panels come in seperate sections so it should be pretty simple to buy a section to make it wider - or leave one unfitted for a smaller one (for example, my 4M Privacy Room has 3 sections to make the width up)

OK Chaps.
The Kyham Sale is on!

Use code BD50 at the checkout for 50% off. This is for the Boxing Day sale but you can use from now.
