I read on an other. forum that a his motorhome solar panel came off on the motorway, luckily it did not hit anything it was sikaflex fitted using 4 plastic corner brackets no screws to roof . Has anyone had or heard of a similar incident .

Nope.. when I changed motorhomes, I tried to remove my stuck down with Sikaflex solar panel, to place on my new motorhome. I ended up taking some of the roof with the brackets as it was stuck down so well.

I hear about this and he said that he had used the sikaflex 6mm thick. He also said that it had come away from the feet and left the sikaflex on the roof. This is why it is important to get a deep key on the feet. I also use sikaflex activator/cleaner to ensure a good bond.

heard of people having trouble getting sikaflex to stick to some plastics, toilets, rooflights etc ,wouldn't use those plastic brackets personally , angle ally cheaper and more substantial
