Just had an extended weekend in Scotland, they always to seem to be on top of the transport routes and general roads regarding gritting and snow clearing, did come across some unmarked road in poor condition but on the whole they seem to be on top of weather situation, however in England we always seem to get caught out.

Just had an extended weekend in Scotland, they always to seem to be on top of the transport routes and general roads regarding gritting and snow clearing, did come across some unmarked road in poor condition but on the whole they seem to be on top of weather situation, however in England we always seem to get caught out.

We were there in Jan-Feb. On some roads up in the north the only other things we saw moving were snowploughs, sadly some of the roads up the dead end valleys and from Lairg to Tongue were for anything other than a 4x4 impassable.
