My engine has the hiccups.

I know all about the dependency of the outdoor temperature from the sensor on the side rear view mirror. This affects the emission control system on the recent AdBlue models. My van doesn't have a external temperature sensor or at least, it doesn't have temperature reading on the dash. My particle filter has a fuel pump/injector/ glowplug for the regeneration. When I connected the OBD reader after the check engine event, the only error was the high temperature on primary exhaust sensor due to the overload of the engine on a long steep hill motor way. It cleared the fault without issues. As soon as the holiday season is over I will visit the mechanic to see what he says.
 
Found the issue with the hiccups/vibration on my van. The left CV joint started to make some noises when I turned the steering wheel while parking and I started to feel vibrations on big radius turns like the freeway off ramps. Replaced the transmission shaft and the problem went away. When I removed the shaft I could feel about 8mm play the would mess with the wheel balance at certain speeds and felt like the engine was causing the vibration.
 
Thanks for reviving this threat as it seems many higher milage vans suffer this problem,mine was solved by replacing engine mounting gearbox end
 
Front wheel drive was the daftest thing ever invented, simple inline engine and rear wheel drive is by miles the best, all trucks are built this way and so is my iveco van, way to far whizzy bendy bits on fwd and almost impossable to work on as so tightly packed engine bay.

The advantage of the front wheel is the headroom you gain in the back with a "less taller" van.
