We don't have any pets, but fully understand the anxiety that fireworks can cause. BUT... It isn't going away anytime soon. We have fireworks from mid October through to February at least twice a week. In my view, firstly I would stop public sales of fireworks, there are very many organised displays that are on normally, the weekend before the 5th November or the weekend after. That should be enough for anyone.
There have been posts of Facebook saying about "silent" fireworks, mainly for displays. But what people don't realise is that the spectacular fireworks are that good because they are exploded outwards. The bang is what makes them work. So called silent fireworks still bang, just a bit less and also less spectacular. I worked for Brocks Fireworks in Hemel Hempstead in the late 60's and early 70's, before it was all being outsourced to China and Brocks closing. We did try silent's back then, but they were just really a damp squib!
